Face in the Window
What was happening to our country? There were a lot of people just like me. We were faces in our windows, looking out, wondering what in the world was going on. We have some evil giants trying to stomp us down, and they are trying to turn our country into something we cannot accept. These giants were systematically forcing terrible things on the population to be accepted as normal and good. God is love but He is not just soft mushy quiet love. God has a temper, and He has displayed it in His word. The scolding poems (the face in the window poems) came to me in basically a complete form.

Hidden Hills
I know there are others like me who also have some hidden hills in their life. Some uphill climbs, some downhill slides. Occasionally you may look back to see how far you have come. There are also some beautiful things in those hills, some weariness, some lost loves. Someone we loved always stays in those hills. People come and go in our hills. We seem to come upon patches of flowers we admire and some we choose. Then there are the birds. So many beautiful birds. Two of my favorite things, flowers, and birds so I turned them into words, and I did not want to hide them in the hills. I put them out there.

She Hears the Wind
What can I say? It was a year the wind was blowing; it was out of control. It had a way of getting on your nerves. It can be a powerful force to deal with. We like to control things, don't we? We like things calm, right? The wind is out of our control, and we find ways to deal with it. It was funny, I woke up one night, the wind was pounding, and I said, "I hear you wind." I gathered my pen and paper and started writing wind poems in the dark. The wind can be a pushy fellow. Our emotions can be pushy like that, forcing us to feel things we do not want to feel.
