Face in the Window

What was happening to our country? There were a lot of people just like me. We were faces in our windows, looking out, wondering what in the world was going on. We have some evil giants trying to stomp us down, and they are trying to turn our country into something we cannot accept. These giants were systematically forcing terrible things on the population to be accepted as normal and good. God is love but He is not just soft mushy quiet love. God has a temper, and He has displayed it in His word. The scolding poems (the face in the window poems) came to me in basically a complete form. To me they were a gift. I barely changed or corrected any of them. It is okay for us to use righteous indignation to fight what is wrong.

We are not door mats for anyone to wipe their feet on. If someone is trying to walk all over you, pull yourself out from underneath them and knock them on their backsides. People change, God does not. God uses tough love for correction and teaching. God will show His wrath when He is angered. He displays His righteous indignation. He offers the greatest love imaginable. He offers mercy and grace. Also, He has a sense of humor. God has a wide range of emotions and so do we. People can only get so far away from God before He steps in to do some correcting. God loves America. God’s love is alive. God loves to hear from us, and He is saying, “Where are you?”I love to write poems about God’s love for us and my love for Him.You can be one of the faces that belong to God. Keep your gospel armor on and always be willing to fight what is wrong. Now that is a good fight.

She Hears the Wind

What can I say? It was a year the wind was blowing; it was out of control. It had a way of getting on your nerves. It can be a powerful force to deal with. We like to control things, don’t we? We like things calm, right? The wind is out of our control, and we find ways to deal with it.

It was funny, I woke up one night, the wind was pounding, and I said, “I hear you wind.” I gathered my pen and paper and started writing wind poems in the dark. The wind can be a pushy fellow. Our emotions can be pushy like that, forcing us to feel things we do not want to feel. I was inspired to mix the wind with emotions, with a sprinkling of advice, opinions, and imagination. That is what happens in a windstorm, everything gets blown around together. Some things stay, some blow away. The wind-I decided to have fun with it.

Seven words: Be a powerful force like the windWind emotions advice opinions imagination faith truth.

Hidden Hills

I know there are others like me who also have some hidden hills in their life. Some uphill climbs, some downhill slides. Occasionally you may look back to see how far you have come. There are also some beautiful things in those hills, some weariness, some lost loves. Someone we loved always stays in those hills. People come and go in our hills. We seem to come upon patches of flowers we admire and some we choose. Then there are the birds. So many beautiful birds.

Two of my favorite things, flowers, and birds so I turned them into words, and I did not want to hide them in the hills. I put them out there. We grow through our experiences in our hidden hills, and we are better for what we have been through. God is always with us on our journey so feel free to reach out to him when you need a hand. His hands are always reaching out to you. God is not hiding in the hidden hills. He is everywhere for everyone who is looking for him. What is in your hidden hills?
